76ers go for season sweep of Knicks

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers avoided a season-high losing streak thanks to a visit by the Eastern Conference's worst team.

Friday they will look to move back above .500 and sweep the season series from the New York Knicks for the first time in 23 years in the final contest of a four-game road swing.

Philadelphia had lost four straight for the third time this season entering Wednesday's game against Washington but posted a 106-98 victory over the Wizards to halt the slide.

Andre Iguodala led six players in double figures with 22 points while dishing out 11 assists. Andre Miller added 11 and seven and Samuel Dalembert recorded a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

The 76ers have not swept the season series against their Atlantic Division rival since taking all six meetings in the 1985-86 season. Philadelphia has won 12 of the last 14 meetings.

New York, which has scored double figures in 18 straight games, has been led by Nate Robinson in posting a 3-2 mark since the All-Star break. Robinson is averaging 30.3 points per game over his last seven games.

The Knicks are coming off a 114-109 loss to Orlando on Wednesday. Robinson scored 32, Wilson Chandler had 27 and Al Harrington added 26 for the Knicks, who have allowed an Eastern Conference-high 107.9 points per game this season.
