Battle of All-Stars highlights Hornets vs. Nets matchup

Feb 28, 2009 - 6:28 PM New Orleans (35-22) at New Jersey (26-32) 6:00 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Two All-Star point guards face off Sunday evening, when Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets travel to New Jersey to play Devin Harris and the Nets.

Paul outplayed Harris in the first meeting on January 21, falling just shy of a triple-double with 29 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in leading the Hornets to a 103-92 victory. Harris was 1-of-11 from the field before leaving in the third quarter with bruised ribs.

However, Harris is riding a wave of momentum coming into Sunday's game.

In Wednesday's 111-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls, Harris scored 19 of his 42 points in the fourth quarter. That performance came two days after Harris scored 39 points against the Philadelphia 76ers, including a miraculous game-winning shot from half-court.

Paul was held to a season-low nine points in Friday's 95-94 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. He did manage to contribute in other ways as he handed out a season-high 20 assists to go along with seven rebounds.

The Hornets have been welcoming back the services of center Tyson Chandler. On February 18, Chandler was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, only to have the deal rescinded after he failed the team's physical.

In three games since returning to the Hornets, Chandler is averaging 13 points and 12 rebounds. The 7-1 center had the game-winning tip-in with 3.3 seconds left Friday.

New Orleans is seeking its first four-game winning streak since December 14 to 20.

The Nets are 2-1 on a four-game homestand.
