Lakers look to sweep season series against Suns

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers aim to complete a season sweep of the Phoenix Suns when the teams meet Sunday.

The Pacific Division rivals met in Los Angeles on Thursday night, with the Lakers routing the Suns, 132-106. Lamar Odom led the way for the Lakers with 23 points and nine rebounds.

Los Angeles is 3-0 against Phoenix this season and has won six of the last seven meetings between the teams.

Suns point guard Steve Nash has missed the last two games, including the contest against the Lakers, with a sprained right ankle. Phoenix is 3-5 without the former MVP this season.

After beating Phoenix on Thursday, the Lakers endured a 90-79 loss at Denver on Friday. Los Angeles shot just 29.8 percent, its second-worst shooting performance since moving from Minneapolis in 1960.

The Suns rebounded from the loss against the Lakers by rolling to a 133-113 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Shaquille O'Neal scored 45 points on 20-of-24 shooting. It was his highest offensive output since he scored 48 with the Lakers against the Boston Celtics on March 21, 2003.
