Pacers look to upset Nuggets

Feb 28, 2009 - 8:41 PM Denver (39-20) at Indiana (25-36) 7:00 p.m. EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Indiana Pacers attempt to again defeat one of the NBA's top teams when they face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

The Pacers are the only NBA club to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, the teams with the four best records in the league. Now, they take on the Northwest Division-leading Nuggets.

Denver is coming off a huge win, posting a 90-79 victory over the league-leading Lakers on Friday. The Nuggets got it done defensively, holding the Lakers to 29.8 percent shooting.

Chris Andersen was outstanding on the defensive end, grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking a career-high seven shots.

Denver, which plays four of its next five games on the road, is aiming for its third three-game winning streak in less than a month.

The Pacers nearly rallied from a 13-point, fourth-quarter deficit before dropping a 104-99 decision to the Celtics on Friday.

Since losing All-Star forward and leading-scorer Danny Granger to a torn tendon in his right foot, the Pacers are 3-2. Following Sunday's game, the Pacers have a three-game West Coast road trip.

Denver rolled to a 133-115 win over Indiana on January 6. In that contest, Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony suffered a hand injury in the third quarter.
