Rockets aim to rebound against struggling Timberwolves

Mar 1, 2009 - 7:44 AM Houston (37-22) at Minnesota (18-40), 7:00 p.m. EST

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- After an improbable collapse, the Houston Rockets should have no problem bouncing back against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Houston looks to get back in the win column when it visits struggling Minnesota on Sunday.

The Rockets were outscored, 23-3, as they blew a 17-point lead with under six minutes to play in Saturday's 105-102 setback to the Chicago Bulls.

Ron Artest scored 32 points and Yao Ming had 17 to lead Houston, which was 6-0 since Tracy McGrady announced he would have season-ending knee surgery.

Minnesota has gone in the opposite direction since losing its leading scorer and rebounder.

The Timberwolves fell to the Portland Trail Blazers, 102-82, on Friday - its eighth straight home loss and fifth consecutive defeat overall.

Craig Smith and Mike Miller each scored 16 points to lead Minnesota, which is 1-7 since Al Jefferson was lost for the season with a torn ACL.
