Hawks hope to bounce back vs. Bobcats
Mar 6, 2009 - 11:13 AM Atlanta (34-27) at Charlotte (26-35) 7:00 p.m. ESTCHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks will be looking to snap out of a recent funk when they face the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.
The Hawks - owners of the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference - have dropped five of their last seven games and are showing consistent lapses on the defensive side. They are allowing an average of 104.6 points, up from 97.3 on the season.
Atlanta shot 52 percent on Wednesday but turned the ball over 14 times in a 109-105 loss to the New York Knicks.
The Bobcats have won a season-high four in a row, though none of those victories have come over a team that projects to make the playoffs.
Raymond Felton and Raja Bell scored 18 points apiece on Wednesday to lead Charlotte to a 96-80 win over the Chicago Bulls.
The Hawks have won all three meetings this season.
