Charging Bulls hope to continue dominance of Raptors

Dec 8, 2006 - 2:35 PM Toronto (7-11) at Chicago (9-9) 8:30 pm EST

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls have been on a tear to make their disappointing start a fading memory.

Chicago looks to extend its overall winning streak to seven and defeat the Toronto Raptors for the 14th consecutive time when the teams meet Friday in their first encounter of the season.

After dropping nine of their first 12 contests, the Bulls have not lost since November 24 when they suffered a 123-108 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, their sixth straight defeat.

Chicago has taken the last seven home meetings against the Raptors and has not lost to them since December 6, 2002. Toronto had won 16 consecutive matchups with the Bulls prior to the current streak.

Ben Gordon scored 31 points off the bench, Luol Deng added 21 with 10 rebounds and Andres Nocioni scored 14 points for Chicago, which set a season high in points in Wednesday's 121-94 victory over Philadelphia.

The Bulls had seven players score in double figures and shot nearly 62 percent (48-of-78) from the floor for their sixth straight home win.

Toronto won four of five games before slipping to 2-9 on the road with Wednesday's 95-91 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Chris Bosh scored 18 points and collected 12 rebounds for the Raptors.
