As we enter the final weeks of the season, the standings are wide open. Lots of teams have the opportunity to move up in seeding and still have a shot at making it into the playoffs. We have three games featured, and all of that is on the line, making each game important.

Denver Nuggets vs. Washington Wizards

  • Leg 1: Nuggets -7.5 (-105)
  • Leg 2: Nikola Jokic OVER 24.5 Points (-120)
  • Leg 3: OVER 228.5 Total Points (-110)

The Nuggets are limping into the playoffs and have lost five of their last seven. While they have secured the Northwest title, they have not locked in the top seed, and Memphis and Sacramento are each very close to jumping over them. We’ve also seen the recent struggles of Nikola Jokic, and as a result, he’s no longer the favorite to win MVP.

The Wizards are on an awful run themselves, losing eight of their last ten, and went from a spot in the play-in tournament to now missing the playoffs. They’ve been better known for their offense, but it has struggled recently, averaging just 106.3 points over their last six games.

Both teams need this game, the Wizards more, but this is an excellent opportunity for a top offense like Denver to rebound against a below-average defense and offense not playing well.

Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks

  • Leg 3: OVER 236.5 Total Points (-125)

It has been a rollercoaster year for the defending champs as they sit just over the play-in tournament. Injuries have played a massive part in their season, so a repeat is a huge possibility if they can get their entire roster ready for the playoffs. Another difference has been unlike last year, where they had one of the better offensive and defensive units, this season the defense is 25th in points allowed.

The Mavericks have plummeted over the last couple of months. The combination of Luka and Kyrie has not worked out as they hoped, and both have had trouble getting on the court the last couple of weeks. They are coming in losing guy 11 of their last 16 and have moved from already being in the playoffs to participating in the play-in tournament.  

The Warriors finally snapped their eight-game road losing streak the other night in Houston. It doesn’t look like Irving, and Donicic will play so that Warriors will get another important road win.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls

  • Leg 1: 76ers -3.5 (-105)
  • Leg 2: UNDER 221.5 Total Points (-105)
  • Leg 3: OVER 32.5 Total Joel Embiid Points (-145)

Philly and Chicago are coming off an exciting matchup the other night, which resulted in the Bulls getting the 109-105 double-overtime win.

Every game is crucial for the Bulls as they sit in 10th and only have a couple of game advantage for that last spot in the playoffs. Defensively, they’re playing some of their best ball of the year, but the offense has recently played better, including a 139-131 shootout win over Minnesota.

That loss against the Bulls snapped the 76ers’ eight-game winning streak. They are in a tight race at the top of the Eastern Conference and could end up with the top seed with a great final stretch. Enormous credit to Joel Embiid, who has been excellent all year and is now the odds favorite to win the MVP.

Both teams have exceptional defensive talent, and we should have another low-scoring battle, but I like the Sixers to respond with a win.
