NBA Parlay Odds & Picks for Thursday, March 23 (2023)

Mar 23, 2023 - 2:23 PM

With nearly a month left in the 2022-23 NBA regular season, teams are jockeying for positions at the top and bottom of both conferences. There are just four matchups in the NBA tonight, but they’re all important, as we take a look at a parlay I have cooked up for the action.

Also, take a look at our other best bets for Thursday:

Leg 1: Cavaliers -4 (-110)

The Brooklyn Nets may need to play in at least one more game (play-in game) to make the playoffs, while the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be peaking just in time to secure home-court advantage in the first round of the postseason. On Thursday night in Brooklyn, where the Nets are attempting to avoid a season-worst fifth straight loss, Cleveland aims to complete the sweep of the two-game set.

Cleveland (46-28) is in a good position to secure home-court advantage in the postseason for the first time since 2018, a season in which they had LeBron. This season, they have already surpassed last season’s win total, a season that ended against the Nets in the play-in game. They have surged 3 1/2 games ahead of the fifth-place New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference after Tuesday’s 115-109 victory over the Nets.

Brooklyn hasn’t held a lead in the second half of any of its last three games; in losses to the Sacramento Kings last Thursday by five points and to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday by six points, it trailed by 17 and 22, respectively. This season’s second four-game losing skid for the Nets is now underway. The other occurred from February 24 to March 1, when the Nets won five of their next six games, including victories against Boston and Denver.

These are not those Nets, however, as they likely drop this one to a red-hot Cavs team

Leg 2: Thunder ML (+140)

When the Los Angeles Clippers complete their two-game series against the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, they will be without All-Star forward Paul George. George left Tuesday’s 101-100 loss to the Thunder late in the fourth quarter with what was later diagnosed as a right knee sprain, and he won’t likely return for the remainder of the regular season.

With nine games left, the Clippers (38-35) sit seventh in the Western Conference. Without George, who is averaging 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, the team’s depth will undoubtedly be put to the test. With three victories over the Clippers this year, Oklahoma City (36-36) had the seventh spot in the Western Conference after their latest win. Following Wednesday’s slate, they currently hold the 8-seed.

Already beating this team with George, I think this number is mispriced, putting too much stock in the players around PG.

Parlay Odds: +358
