Wizards aim for fourth consecutive win, face Rockets
Dec 9, 2006 - 4:34 PM Houston (13-6) at Washington (9-10) 7:00 pm ESTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards begin a three-game homestand and look for their fourth straight victory when they face the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
Gilbert Arenas scored 32 points to lead the Wizards to a 113-98 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers Friday. Washington dominated the game with 76ers guard Allen Iverson out of the lineup after being sent home by coach Maurice Cheeks just before the team shootaround amid trade rumors.
The Wizards have won their last two road games after starting the season 0-8 away from home.
Tracy McGrady scored 23 points and Yao Ming added 21 during a 92-62 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday. Houston held Charlotte to 28 percent (23-of-81) shooting for the game.
The Rockets set a franchise record for fewest points allowed in a game. Their previous best effort was 63 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 2 and the Utah Jazz on January 3, 2004.
Washington is 7-2 at home this season.
