Clippers face Grizzlies, look for first road win

Dec 9, 2006 - 5:47 PM LA Clippers (9-9) at Memphis (5-14) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- After getting demolished against one of the NBA's best teams, the Los Angeles Clippers will aim for their first road win against one of its worst.

The lone team without a victory away from home, the Clippers will face off against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

Los Angeles has not played this poorly on the road since dropping 12 in a row in the 1998-99 season. The Clippers are 0-7 away from their home floor and are averaging just 91.6 points per game, while allowing 105.7, on the road.

Shaun Livingston scored 16 points on Wednesday to pace Los Angeles, which continued to look very little like the team that reached the Western Conference semifinals last season in a 111-82 blowout loss to red-hot San Antonio.

On Friday, Hakim Warrick collected career highs of 31 points and 13 rebounds and Brian Cardinal added 11 points for the Grizzlies, who committed 20 turnovers in a 100-94 loss at Milwaukee.

Despite having the worst winning percentage in the Western Conference, the Grizzlies have won two straight and seven of their last eight against the Clippers at home.
