NBA Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (3/29)
Mar 29, 2023 - 12:34 PMWith just over a week left in the 2023 NBA regular season, things are starting to heat up in both conferences as team jockey for position in postseason play. Likewise, teams in the basement are also fighting for the most ping pong balls come the NBA Draft, as we take a look at Wednesday’s slate and my three favorite spots.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Philadelphia 76ers
It’s officially do-or-die time for the Mavs, as the recent acquisition of Kyrie Irving may prove to be costly for the franchise for years to come. Having won just three of their past 10 games, the Mavericks picked up a critical win on Monday, beating the Pacers on the road 127-104 to cover as 7.5-point favorites.
The road will get more difficult on Wednesday, as they take on a 76ers team who is firmly in the postseason as the 3rd seed in the East. With their backs against the wall currently .5 games outside even the play-in tournament, I expect a concerted effort from a talented Mavericks team as they win this one likely outright.
Bet: Mavericks +5.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Chicago Bulls
Two teams in the back half of the play-in tournament will square off Wednesday in Chicago, as the Lakers sit one game below .500 and in a battle to hang onto the 9th seed in the West. Having won three of four, the Lake Show could be getting hot at the right time, but they’ll need to get revenge on a Bulls team they just faced on Sunday.
Winning 118-107 in LA, the win was the Bulls’ fifth in their previous six games but was quickly forgotten, losing the following night still in LA vs. the Clippers. Getting this one at home, it will also be the Bulls’ third game in four nights. I like for the return of LeBron James (likely) to be too much.
Bet: Lakers -1.5 (-110)
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Phoenix Suns
Winners of four straight, the Timberwolves are absolutely getting hot at the right time of the season, as they find themselves in the 6th seed in the West with just over a week left to play. A team that fell off throughout the season largely due to injury, the Timberwolves will have their undeniable leader Karl-Anthony Towns back just in time to get his chemistry back going over the last part of the season.
For the Suns, Kevin Durant will make his return, but I still like the Timberwolves to have enough to keep this one close.
Bet: Timberwolves+6 (-110)
