Curry looks to keep rolling as Knicks host Celtics

Dec 11, 2006 - 2:26 PM Boston (6-13) at New York (8-14) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New York center Eddy Curry has enjoyed a rebirth in New York, and looks to keep it going as the Knicks host the Boston Celtics on Monday.

Curry has registered nine straight 20-point games and four straight double-doubles, and is averaging 24.9 points-per-game during the stretch. Unfortunately, the Knicks have not been able to ride his wave, as they have gone 4-5 during his hot streak.

In a 115-107 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, Curry scored a carer-high 36 points and finished with nine rebounds while shooting 17-of-24 from the field.

The Celtics have been struggling lately, losing four of their last five and seven of eight. However, they snapped their four-game losing streak with a 92-90 triumph over the New Jersey Nets on Saturday.

Paul Pierce hit a buzzer-beater over Nets guard Jason Kidd to lift Boston. Al Jefferson led the Celtics with 29 points and 14 rebounds while Pierce added 17 points and Delonte West chipped in with 16 points.

Boston trailed, 27-11, after one quarter but climbed back into the game by outscoring New Jersey, 34-21, in the second quarter.
