Spurs try to start another win streak

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs had their four-game win streak ended and they look to start another one when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

The Spurs' streak was halted with a 106-99 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. San Antonio led, 48-46, at halftime, but fell way behind after it was outscored, 37-22, in the third quarter.

Despite the loss, San Antonio is 8-2 on the road this season.

Manu Ginobili, who entered with a 13.8 points per game average, led the Spurs with 23 points. Tim Duncan, who averages 21.8 points, only managed 16 against the Lakers.

While the Spurs have been very strong on the road this year, the Clippers have been equally as good at home in going 9-2.

The Clippers return home after a short 1-1 road trip which ended with an 89-82 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

Elton Brand paced the Clippers with 26 points and Sam Cassell added 18 points. Brand only scored 10 points in a 111-82 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.
