Nuggets go for fourth straight win on Wizards' home floor

Dec 13, 2006 - 4:29 PM Denver (12-7) at Washington (9-11) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Over the past three seasons, the Denver Nuggets have found some success in Washington during their visits to the East Coast.

Making the third stop of a five-game road trip, the Nuggets eye their fourth straight win here when they visit the Wizards on Wednesday.

Denver earned a split of its first two contests following a 100-87 victory in Atlanta on Tuesday. Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points, Earl Boykins 19 and J.R. Smith 17.

Marcus Camby collected 17 rebounds and four blocks and Andre Miller had nine assists and four steals for the Nuggets, who survived 21 turnovers.

The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Gilbert Arenas will try to bring some balance to this series. He averaged 37.3 points last week while leading the Wizards to a 3-1 record.

Arenas netted 41 points, including seven 3-pointers, and handed out seven assists, but Washington fell, 114-109, to Houston on Saturday. Antawn Jamison had 27 points and 11 rebounds and Caron Butler added 17 and 10 for the Wizards, who shot 40 percent (35-of-88) from the floor.

Washington is 7-3 at home this season.
