Trail Blazers shoot for first three-game winning streak

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Unlike their opponent Wednesday, the Portland Trail Blazers are starting to show signs of life.

The Trail Blazers take aim at their first three-game winning streak of the season when they face the struggling Memphis Grizzlies.

Portland achieved back-to-back wins for just the second time this season with Sunday's 81-79 triumph at Philadelphia. Zach Randolph was the hero, driving in for the winning layup with 2.4 seconds left.

Randolph finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Juan Dixon scored 17 points and Ime Udoka 12 for the Blazers, who won despite shooting just 43 percent (28-of-64) and committing 21 turnovers.

Portland has not won three straight since a four-game winning streak in January.

Winning streaks of any kind are a foreign concept for the Grizzlies, who have lost three straight and six of their last seven. They dropped a 105-92 decision to New Jersey on Sunday as they were outscored, 25-10, in the first quarter and never recovered.

Chucky Atkins scored 26 points and Damon Stoudamire added 10 for Memphis, which has the worst record in the NBA (5-16). The Grizzlies are 3-5 at home this season as opposed to a dreadful 2-11 mark on the road.
