Celtics look to extend three-game winning streak
Dec 15, 2006 - 3:21 PM Denver (12-8) at Boston (8-13) 7:30 pm ESTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics seek to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
Boston followed a come-from-behind victory over New Jersey on Saturday with wins over New York and Philadelphia. Paul Pierce and Ryan Gomes each scored 18 points and Tony Allen added 16 in the Celtics' 101-81 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday.
However, the Celtics have lost their last four home games. Boston is 27-6 here against the Nuggets.
Denver fell to the Washington Wizards, 120-91, on Wednesday in the third stop on a five-game road trip.
Carmelo Anthony scored 37 points and Reggie Evans added 12 and 10 rebounds for Denver, which committed 20 turnovers.
The Nuggets have won three of the last four meetings with Boston.
