Shorthanded Pistons visit Carter, Nets

Dec 16, 2006 - 5:44 PM Detroit (13-8) at New Jersey (9-13) 8:00 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons aim to finish their four-game road trip on a positive note.

Richard Hamilton and the Pistons will concluded their road swing with a stop against Vince Carter and the New Jersey Nets on Saturday.

Chauncey Billups scored 22 points and backcourt mate Hamilton chipped in 18 for Detroit, which had its two-game winning streak ended with a 101-90 defeat at Indiana on Wednesday.

The Pistons will be without temperamental forward Rasheed Wallace, who will miss at least two games with an ankle injury. He is averaging 13.5 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds.

On Friday, Carter endured perhaps his worst game this season, scoring just 12 points and hitting only 4-of-17 shots in the Nets' 90-78 defeat to the Toronto Raptors.

New Jersey could be a little lite in the lineup also as forward Richard Jefferson might not be availible due to a sore right ankle. He sat out Friday's contest and is listed as day-to-day.

The clubs split in their four-game season series a year ago.
