Timberwolves try to rebound from second-half collapse

Dec 16, 2006 - 5:55 PM Minnesota (10-10) at Milwaukee (9-14) 8:30 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves collapsed in their last game, and they look to make amends when they travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks on Saturday.

The Timberwolves fell apart in the second half of their 95-82 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Minnesota led the game at the half, 56-48, but was held to a paltry 26 points in the last 22 minutes of the contest.

Having their season-high four-game winning streak snapped, the Timberwolves killed themselves with 17 second-half turnovers. Garnett and Mark Blount both finished with 19 points while rookie Randy Foye added 15. However, Garnett only scored two points in the second half.

Milwaukee has lost its last two games, including a 117-111 loss at Chicago on Friday.

Michael Redd paced the Bucks with 32 points and Ruben Patterson added 21 and Mo Williams chipped in with 18. The other seven Bucks combined for only 40 points.

Milwaukee struggled on free throws, converting just 16-of-34 (47 percent) attempts.

Despite their struggles, the Bucks have been playing good ball at home lately, winning three straight.
