Winston-Salem cruises past Atlanta Christian 94-57

Nov 21, 2009 - 4:02 AM WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.(AP) -- Shelton Carter scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead three Winston-Salem players with double-doubles as the Rams crushed Atlanta Christian College 94-57 on Friday night.

Paul Davis scored 13 and added 11 rebounds, and McIntoche Alcius had 10 points and 12 boards for the Rams (1-3). Brian Fisher added 14 points and Andrew Jackson finished with 12 on 3-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc.

The Rams opened the game on a 26-4 run, and took a 30-8 lead with less than 10 minutes to play before halftime. They led 49-23 at the break and cruised in the second half.

Winston-Salem dominated on the boards, grabbing 61 rebounds to just 23 by the Chargers (4-4).

The Chargers, who were paced by Keldrick Appling with 14 points, shot just 27.3 percent (18-for-66) in the game.
