N.J. Tech 54, St. Peter's 65

Dec 10, 2009 - 4:40 AM JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Wesley Jenkins scored a season-high 25 points and Saint Peter's held off N.J. Tech 65-54 on Wednesday night.

The Peacocks (4-4) led for most of the game, but allowed the Highlanders (3-6) to go on a 15-6 run and pull within two, at 50-48, with 4:57 to play. Saint Peter's then used a 13-2 run, sparked by a Nick Leon 3-pointer, to put the game away with 36.5 seconds left.

Jenkins was 8-for-15 from the field, including 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, and 7-for-8 from the free throw line. He also had four rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Nick Leon added 14 points for the Peacocks.

Saint Peter's outrebounded the Highlanders 35-28 and scored 32 points in the paint and 25 points off 22 N.J. Tech turnovers.

Chris Flores led the Highlanders with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Saint Peter's has won all six meetings between the schools dating back to the 1948-49 season.
