Cal Poly edges past South Dakota State 73-66

Dec 16, 2009 - 3:57 AM BROOKINGS, S.D.(AP) -- Lorenzo Keeler had 21 points and Kyle Odister added 17 as Cal Poly defeated South Dakota State 73-66 Tuesday night.

Keeler hit 3 of 6 3-pointers and Odister hit 2 of 5 from behind the arc. Will Donahue added 13 points, a game-high 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Mustangs (3-5).

Clint Sargent had 16 points and Garrett Callahan had 13 to lead South Dakota State (4-7). Sargent and Callahan hit three 3-pointers each.

Tony Fiegen added 12 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Jackrabbits, and Kai Williams had 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

The game was tied at 66 with 1:40 to play. Odister hit a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left, followed by a pair of free throws by Keeler to make it 71-66. Donahue blocked Fiegen's layup with eight seconds to play before Keeler hit two more free throws to seal the win.
