Leading by a point midway through the first half, USF began a 15-3 run to take its biggest lead of the game at 34-21.

UCF answered with a pair of long jumpers by Sosa to cut the deficit to 34-27 at the break. Sosa hit a 3-pointer at the final buzzer to pull the Knights as close as they would get in the second half.
