No. 6 Kansas crushes Ohio

Nov 27, 2010 - 4:05 AM Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Marcus Morris scored 26 points and his twin brother Markieff added 11 points and eight rebounds as sixth-ranked Kansas easily handled Ohio, 98-41, in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Travis Releford added 13 points and both Brady Morningstar and Elijah Johnson scored eight for the Jayhawks (5-0), who will face Arizona on Saturday.

D.J. Cooper scored 16 points and grabbed six boards for the Bobcats (3-2), who had won two straight.

Kansas stated the game on a 10-2 run in the first four minutes. Marcus Morris connected on a three-pointer with six minutes left to put the Jayhawks up, 30-14, and added a tip-in with 1:38 to go to extend the lead to 43-16.

Marcus Morris scored 18 points in the first half, and Ohio's 7-of-30 shooting in the opening 20 minutes allowed the Jayhawks to jump out to a 43-20 advantage heading into intermission.

Kansas opened the second half with an 9-0 run, and Marcus Morris connected on a driving layup with seven minutes left to put Kansas up 40, 77-37.

The Kansas lead breached 50 with 3 1/2 minutes remaining and the Jayhawks played out the stretch with their bench.

Kansas forced Ohio into 22 turnovers that they turned into 33 points... Kansas won the rebounding margin 44-38... Ohio missed all 18 three-pointers they attempted... The Bobcats made 13-of-15 from the line; 19-of-30 for Kansas.
