Gonzaga thumps Campbell

Dec 20, 2012 - 5:02 AM Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Przemek Karnowski scored 14 points and Kelly Olynyk added 12, as 14th-ranked Gonzaga ran past Campbell, 74-52, at McCarthey Athletic Center.

Elias Harris and Gary Bell Jr. each added 11 points for the Bulldogs (11-1), who have won back-to-back contests since a Dec. 8 setback to Illinois.

Trey Freeman netted 17 points and Darian Hooker tallied 11 for the Fighting Camels (3-8), who have lost three in a row.

Freeman's jumper had the visitors within 13-9, but the Bulldogs scored nine of the next 12 points. A Harris dunk expanded the margin to 28-14 at the midway point, and a 13-0 push later in the half yielded a 47-20 advantage.

Gonzaga carried a 49-24 lead into halftime and wasn't threatened in the final 20 minutes.

"We were pretty darn efficient on offense, especially in the first half, to kind of put the game away," Gonzaga coach Mark Few said. "Good job by the guys getting us to break with only one loss with such a daunting schedule. Now we get a little time off to kind of recharge our batteries."
