Nov 17, 2014 - 6:13 AM Tucson, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Stanley Johnson scored 17 points to lead No. 2 Arizona to a 86-68 win over Cal State Northridge in the mainland portion of the EA Sports Maui Invitational on Sunday.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench and Brandon Ashley added 13 points for the Wildcats (2-0), who opened the season with a 78-55 win over Mount Saint Mary's on Friday.

"I'm going to have the most energy in the country when it comes to giving it my all," Hollis-Jefferson said.

Stephen Maxwell paced the Matadors (0-2) with 19 points and Aaron Parks supplied 15 points in the setback. Cal State Northridge, which opened the season with a loss to No. 16 San Diego State, will look to get in the win column against Montana State on Wednesday.

A 9-2 spurt that lasted just under three minutes helped Arizona to a 25-14 lead after Ashley's layup at 5:42.

Hollis-Jefferson then capped off six straight points late in the first with a layup before Maxwell's basket closed the scoring, and the Wildcats brought a 37-21 lead into halftime.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright's 3-pointer gave the hosts a 20-point lead just past the 14-minute mark of the second

Arizona's lead swelled to as many as 29 a couple of times later in the frame, but the Matadors ended the game on a 13-2 run that made the final score a little more respectable.
