Northern Iowa rolls over Bradley

Feb 21, 2015 - 11:46 PM Cedar Falls, IA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nate Buss and Wes Washpun each scored 11 points to guide No. 11 Northern Iowa to a 56-39 victory over Bradley on Saturday.

Seth Tuttle had nine points and eight rebounds and Jeremy Morgan added eight points for the Panthers (26-2, 15-1 MVC), who have won 15 straight and hold a half-game lead over Wichita State for first place in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Josh Cunningham, Nate Wells and Ka'Darryl Bell scored six points apiece for the Braves (8-21, 3-13), who have lost their last four.

The game stayed close until Morgan put in a 3-pointer with under seven minutes to play to give Northern Iowa a 20-17 advantage, a lead which the team never relinquished from there.

A 7-2 run a bit later from the Panthers helped the team take a 27-23 lead into halftime.

Holding an eight-point lead, Washpun put in a pair of free throws with 12 minutes to play that started an 11-0 run for the Panthers and the team held a 49-30 advantage with eight minutes to play after Matt Bohannon put in a 3- pointer.

Game Notes

Northern Iowa hosts Evansville on Wednesday ... Bradley plays at Missouri State on Wednesday ... The Panthers shot 41.3 percent while the Braves made just 34.8 percent.
