Marquette continues long homestand against Oakland
Dec 19, 2006 - 5:08 PM Oakland (6-7) at No. 21 Marquette (10-2) 8:00 pm ESTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Marquette continues a long homestand when it hosts Oakland, which is closing out a five-game road trip, on Tuesday.
The 21st-ranked Golden Eagles are just 3-2 during their eight-game run at home. They moved above the .500 mark here after a 68-46 victory over Maryland Baltimore County on Saturday.
Dominic James collected 17 points, six assists and four steals and Jerel McNeal added 15 points for Marquette, which forced 22 turnovers.
The Golden Grizzlies fell to 1-3 on their trek following a 74-53 loss to top-ranked UCLA on Saturday. Shawn Hopes scored 17 points for Oakland, which shot just 32 percent (17-of-53) overall.
The Golden Eagles have won both meetings in the all-time series.
