Donovan a win away from all-time Florida victory record

GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) - Florida coach Billy Donovan will become the all-time winningest coach in school history if the No. 5 Gators can defeat Stetson on Wednesday.

Donovan is 235-100 in 11 seasons with Florida and guided them to the NCAA title last season with a win over UCLA in the championship game. He equalled Norm Sloan for the most wins in Gator history with a 72-57 victory over Florida A&M on Sunday.

In that win, Lee Humphrey led Florida with 15 points while Taurean Green and Walter Hodge each added 11. Florida, which went 16-2 at home last season, improved to 7-0 at home this season.

Stetson had a 10-day layoff and it showed in a 89-64 loss to Miami on Saturday.

The Hatters, who shot only 37 percent from the floor against the Hurricanes, have lost three straight and are 0-4 on the road this season.
