Connecticut looks to remain unbeaten vs. Pepperdine

Dec 20, 2006 - 5:26 PM Pepperdine (3-9) at No. 11 Connecticut (9-0) 7:00 pm EST

HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Connecticut has had it easy so far this season. On Wednesday, it should not be any different.

The 11th-ranked Huskies will look to remain unbeaten when they face struggling Pepperdine.

A very inexperienced team, Connecticut has no scholarships juniors or seniors, but that hasn't yet affected its play. However, that is partly because the Huskies have played an easy schedule - starting the season with 11 straight home games.

On Sunday, Jerome Dyson scored 19 points and Adrien added 15 as UConn extended its home winning streak to 28 games with an 89-73 victory over St. Mary's. One of two freshman in a very young starting lineup for the Huskies, Dyson helped lead an early charge that decided the outcome quickly.

On Saturday, the Waves snapped a three-game losing streak with a 101-86 win over Northern Arizona.

Last season, Pepperdine dropped a 75-56 home decision to the Huskies. They have lost six straight games against ranked teams with their last win coming against Wisconsin on November 27, 2004.

UConn has won the last three meetings between the squads.
