LSU looks to get back on track against Louisiana Tech
Dec 23, 2006 - 5:14 PM Louisiana Tech (2-8) at No. 15 LSU (6-3) 4:00 pm ESTBATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- After a stretch of tough non-conference games, Louisiana State looks to pad its record against some lesser opponents.
Coming off losses in two of their last three games, the 15th-ranked Tigers will host Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
After a win against Texas A&M on December 6, the Tigers have sandwiched losses to Texas and Washington around a win against Oregon State. Against the Huskies on Wednesday, Tasmin Mitchell scored 20 and Tack Martin added 11 for LSU in an 88-72 loss.
The Tigers hope to get back on track with an easy stretch coming up. They will face the Bulldogs, Wright State, Mississippi Valley State and Samford before facing No. 14 Connecticut on January 6 and starting SEC play against 10th-ranked Alabama on January 9.
In 1988, Louisiana Tech won, 111-109, in the only meeting between the schools since 1946. However, the Tigers won the previous nine meetings from 1928-46.
