Clemson looks to remain undefeated vs. Georgia

CLEMSON, South Carolina (Ticker) - No. 21 Clemson aims to remain unbeaten when its faces Georgia on Thursday.

Clemson is one of the four unbeaten teams in Division I. In their last contest, the Tigers matched the second-best start in school history. The 1986-87 team started at 17-0.

K.C. Rivers came off the bench to hit 6-of-9 shots from the arc and score a career-high 24 points as the Tigers rolled to a 103-60 victory over Western Carolina on Saturday. James Mays scored all 14 of his points in the first half, when the Tigers built a 44-29 lead. Rivers scored 14 points in the second half.

Leading the Bulldogs in scoring, Mike Mercer had a nightmare game in Georgia's last contest - a 78-69 loss to rival Georgia Tech on Friday. Mercer, who averaged 18.1 points per game entering the contest, scored just nine - all on free throws - and went 0-of-11 from the field.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 55-23.
