No. 8 Alabama goes for 15th straight home win vs Oklahoma

Jan 1, 2007 - 3:01 PM Oklahoma (8-3) at No. 8 Alabama (12-1) 2:30 pm EST

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- With one game remaining before the start of Southeastern Conference play, Alabama is becoming tough to beat at home.

The eighth-ranked Crimson Tide look for their 15th consecutive home victory and sixth straight overall Monday when they host Oklahoma, which has won four in a row.

One reason for Alabama's recent success has been the play of Richard Hendrix, who has four double-doubles in his last five games. The sophomore is averaging 20.2 points and 10.4 rebounds during that stretch.

Mykal Riley scored 21 points, Hendrix added 18 with 11 rebounds and Jermareo Davidson had 16 points for the Crimson Tide in Friday's 80-58 triumph over Lipscomb.

Oklahoma also plays its final non-conference foe before opening its Big 12 schedule Saturday at Texas Tech. The Sooners have limited their opponents to just 32 percent shooting from the floor in their eight victories.

Longar Longar scored 20 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and Tony Crocker added 14 points for Oklahoma in Thursday's 69-42 triumph over SMU.

Oklahoma as won four of the five all-time encounters against Alabama, including a 68-56 victory December 31, 2005.
