Oregon hosts No. 1 UCLA in Pac-10 Conference showdown

Jan 6, 2007 - 3:38 PM No. 1 UCLA (14-0) at No. 17 Oregon (13-1) 2:00 pm EST

EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Oregon fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in disappointing fashion. They hope to bounce back against a team that still hasn't lost yet.

No. 17 Oregon looks to rebound from its first loss of the season when it hosts top-ranked UCLA on Saturday in a Pac-10 Conference clash.

The Ducks were off to their best start in 60 years before dropping an 84-82 decision to Southern California on Thursday.

Aaron Brooks scored 31 points, but Oregon squandered a six-point halftime deficit to fall to 1-1 in conference play.

On Saturday, the Ducks look to snap their four-game skid against the mighty Bruins, who hope to continue their outstanding Pac-10 play.

After posting an impressive 96-74 victory over No. 20 Washington last Sunday, UCLA continued rolling with a 71-56 triumph at Oregon State on Thursday.

Josh Shipp scored 18 points to pace five players in double figures for the Bruins, who improved to 3-0 in the Pac-10 and - along with Clemson - remained one of two undefeated teams in Division I.
