Indiana, Michigan St. both aim for first Big Ten victory
Jan 7, 2007 - 5:31 PM No. 24 Michigan St (13-3) at Indiana (9-4) 4:30 pm ESTBLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) - Indiana looks to claim its first Big Ten Conference victory and stay undefeated at home when they host No. 24 Michigan State on Sunday.
The Hoosiers (9-4, 0-1 Big Ten) dropped their league opener to sixth-ranked Ohio State, 74-67, on Tuesday, spoiling Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson's first Big Ten game.
Joey Shaw scored 16 points and Armon Bassett added 13 for Indiana, which is still boasts a 7-0 record at home.
The Spartans (13-3, 0-1) also lost their league opener, absorbing a 62-60 setback at Iowa on Thursday.
Drew Neitzel led Michigan State with 20 points, but did not get much help offensively, as Maurice Joseph was the next highest scorer with only nine points.
The Spartans have won four of their last six meetings with the Hoosiers, but lost both of their last two meetings here.
