Arizona can remain perfect at home against Oregon State

Jan 11, 2007 - 5:21 PM Oregon St (8-8) at No. 8 Arizona (12-2) 8:30 pm EST

TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) - With its victory run over, Arizona returns home to try to start another one.

After having their 12-game winning streak snapped with an overtime setback, the eighth-ranked Wildcats return to the McKale Center to take on Oregon State on Thursday in a Pac-10 Conference matchup.

Arizona (12-2, 3-1 Pac-10) lost its season opener at Virginia, then reeled off a dozen wins before a 77-73 setback at Washington State on Saturday.

While both of its losses have come on the road, Arizona has been a perfect 8-0 at home.

Oregon State (8-8, 0-3) has lost three straight games, all in the conference and all at home.

The Beavers are 0-4 against ranked teams this season and will have a hard time breaking through against the Wildcats, especially at the McKale Center, where they have lost 24 straight visits.

Oregon State's last win at Arizona was during the 1982-83 campaign, the season before current Arizona coach Lute Olson arrived.
