Butler aims to get back on track vs. South Dakota State

Jan 13, 2007 - 3:04 PM So Dakota St (4-12) at No. 12 Butler (14-2) 2:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - After picking up its first conference loss, No. 12 Butler steps out of Horizon League play Saturday when it hosts South Dakota State.

Butler (14-2) struggled shooting the ball and was dominated on the glass in suffering just its second loss this campaign, a 73-67 overtime setback at Illinois-Chicago on Wednesday.

A.J. Graves scored 31 points in the defeat.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Bulldogs, who will play their next three games at home - where they have won all six of their games - in an attempt to get back on track. After Saturday's non-conference matchup, Butler will host Horizon rivals Youngstown State and Wisconsin-Green Bay.

South Dakota State (4-12) has lost three of its last five games, including a 72-61 loss to Central Florida last Saturday. The Jackrabbits have lost two straight games after posting wins against Missouri-Kansas City and Montana State.

Saturday's game will be the third meeting in three years between the squads, with the Bulldogs coming up victorious in the previous two matchups.
