Wisconsin looks to continued strong play vs. Northwestern

Jan 13, 2007 - 3:33 PM No. 4 Wisconsin (16-1) at Northwestern (10-6) 2:30 pm EST

EVANSTON, Illinois (Ticker) - After a win in one of its biggest games of the season, Wisconsin hopes to avoid a letdown against a lesser opponent.

The fourth-ranked Badgers will look to continue their strong play against Northwestern in Big Ten Conference matchup on Saturday.

In a faceoff with No. 5 Ohio State and its much-hyped center Greg Oden on Tuesday, Wisconsin (16-1, 2-0 Big Ten) came out victorious, 72-69. The Badgers will travel to Columbus for a rematch on February 25 in their lone remaining game against a ranked opponent.

Kammron Taylor scored 25 points and Alando Tucker added 17 against the Buckeyes as the Badgers improved to 40-2 in Big Ten games and 13-2 vs. ranked teams in the last six years at home under coach Bo Ryan.

The Wildcats (10-6, 0-3) have lost three straight contests after 66-45 setback to Michigan State on Wednesday.

Wisconsin has won 10 of its last 13 contests with Northwestern.
