Air Force looks to tie program-best winning streak

Jan 13, 2007 - 3:53 PM No. 15 Air Force (16-1) at Wyoming (11-5) 4:00 pm EST

LARAMIE, Wyoming (Ticker) - With its current run, Air Force can be considered one of college basketball's top teams.

The 15th-ranked Falcons hope to keep their run going when they take on Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference matchup on Saturday.

With its 12-game winning streak, Air Force (16-1, 3-0 Mountain West) is off to its best start in school history and will look to equal the program-best 13-game streak from December 9, 2003-January 31, 2004.

On Tuesday, the Falcons nearly had their winning streak halted. They were losing by as many as 21 points but pulled out a 65-57 victory over New Mexico. But it won't get any easier for Air Force against the pesky Cowboys.

Wyoming has been a surprise team so far this campaign, winning its first two conference matchups. The Cowboys (11-5, 2-0) came from an 11-point deficit to post an 86-76 overtime victory vs. UNLV on Wednesday.

The Falcons have dropped 16 of their last 17 visits to Wyoming.
