Brooks, Oregon visit No. 8 Arizona in Pac-10 clash

Jan 14, 2007 - 3:56 PM No. 17 Oregon (15-1) at No. 8 Arizona (13-2) 8:00 pm EST

TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Two of the top teams in the Pac-10 Conference square off Sunday when 17th-ranked Oregon visits No. 8 Arizona in an early conference showdown.

On the heels of their thrilling upset of top-ranked UCLA on January 6, the Ducks (15-1, 3-1 Pac-10) avoided a letdown and escaped with a victory in Thursday's 60-55 over Arizona State.

Aaron Brooks scored 11 of his 16 points in the second half and converted a pair of game-clinching free throws with 3.6 seconds remaining.

Brooks has averaged 21.8 points over the last six games, shooting 16-of-31 (55.0 percent) from 3-point range.

The Wildcats (13-2, 4-1) bounced back from a disappointing loss at Washington State with an 83-72 over Oregon State on Thursday.

Marcus Williams scored a career-high 27 points and is averaging 22.2 points on 63 percent shooting in his last five games.

Arizona has averaged 90 points in going 9-0 at the McKale Center this season and has won four straight and 18 of its last 19 here against Oregon. The Wildcats have won seven of their last eight meetings with the Ducks.
