Wisconsin shoots for 14th straight win, hosts Purdue

Jan 17, 2007 - 4:29 PM Purdue (13-5) at No. 3 Wisconsin (17-1) 8:00 pm EST

MADISON, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- During the rough and tumble Big Ten Conference season, Wisconsin will settle for wins any way it can.

After struggling in their last game, the third-ranked Badgers aim for their 14th straight victory when they host Purdue on Wednesday in a Big Ten contest.

Led by star Alando Tucker, Wisconsin has not lost since dropping a 66-64 decision to Missouri State in the semifinals of the South Padre Island Invitational on November 24.

However, the Badgers have scraped for wins in their last two contests, holding on for a three-point triumph over No. 7 Ohio State four days before a 56-50 victory over Northwestern on Saturday.

Wisconsin's leading scorer, Tucker netted 15 of his 17 points in the second half while Kammron Taylor finished with 12 points for the Badgers (17-1, 3-0 Big Ten), who overcame a two-point halftime deficit.

Wisconsin hopes for a better effort Wednesday against the Boilermakers (13-5, 2-2), who have won three of their last five games.

Purdue figures to carry some momentum from Saturday's 67-53 win over Michigan. Carl Landry scored 22 points for the Boilermakers, who own a 98-61 record in the all-time series with Wisconsin.
