No. 1 Florida goes for 14th straight home win vs. Ole Miss

Jan 20, 2007 - 2:24 PM Ole Miss (12-6) at No. 1 Florida (16-2) 1:00 pm EST

GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- The onset of conference play has helped bring out the best in Florida guard Lee Humphrey.

The reigning Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, Humphrey tries to lead the top-ranked Gators to their 10th consecutive victory Saturday when they host Mississippi in an SEC contest.

A 6-2 senior, Humphrey has hit 20-of-29 shots in three conference contests, including seven three pointers en route to a career-high 27 points for Florida in last Saturday's 84-50 triumph over South Carolina.

The Gators rank among the nation's leaders in field goal shooting percentage (54.5) and 3-point percentage (42.6). They have won all 12 home games and are looking for their first 4-0 start in conference play in four seasons.

Mississippi has dropped four of its last five games and is 1-3 in the SEC after winning 11 of 14 non-conference games.

The Rebels set a season low in points in Wednesday's 62-55 loss to Louisiana State. Clarance Sanders scored 12 points and Dwayne Curtis added 11 in the second half.

Florida has won the last four encounters against Mississippi and seven of nine.
