No. 2 UCLA can remain undefeated at home vs. Arizona

Jan 20, 2007 - 3:41 PM No. 12 Arizona (13-4) at No. 2 UCLA (16-1) 4:00 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- At its current pace, UCLA can accomplish something that has happened just once since the glory days under Hall of Fame coach John Wooden.

The second-ranked Bruins look to keep their undefeated home record and remain tied for first place in the Pac-10 Conference race Saturday when they host Arizona.

UCLA has won all 10 home contests this season and have not finished with a perfect mark at Pauley Pavilion since its NCAA championship season in 1994-1995. Prior to that, the Bruins had not finished unbeaten at home since Wooden's final campaign in 1974-1975.

After its lone loss of the season to Oregon on January 6, UCLA has won its last two games, including Thursday's 60-50 victory over Arizona State to raise its Pac-10 mark to 5-1.

Darren Collison scored 16 points, Arron Afflalo added 13 and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute grabbed 14 rebounds as the Bruins limited the Sun Devils to just 13 second-half points.

The Wildcats have dropped three of their last four contests after a 12-game winning streak and are hoping to avoid their first three-game slide against conference foes since 1984.

Arizona is coming off Thursday's 80-73 defeat to Southern California. Mustafa Shakur and Marcus Williams scored 19 points apiece and Ivan Radenovic added 15 for the Wildcats.

UCLA has won the last three matchups against Arizona and is 26-12 here in the all-time series.
