Rush, Kansas aim to start new winning streak
Jan 24, 2007 - 2:09 PM No. 8 Kansas (16-3) at Baylor (11-7) 8:00 pm ESTWACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Brandon Rush and Kansas hope to take out their frustration on lowly Baylor.
The eighth-ranked Jayhawks look to bounce back from a disappointing setback and avoid consecutive Big 12 Conference road losses Wednesday when they visit the Bears.
The preseason conference favorite, Kansas (16-3, 3-1 Big 12) had its 10-game winning streak snapped Saturday in a 69-64 loss to Texas Tech.
The Jayhawks' leading scorer at 13.5 points per game, Rush managed just 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting.
Darrell Arthur and Julian Wright each scored 12 points for Kansas, which has not lost back-to-back Big 12 road games since a three-game losing streak from February 14-March 6, 2005.
The Jayhawks figure to get well against the Bears (11-7, 1-4), who will try to regroup after an ugly 91-51 rout in Oklahoma on Saturday.
Curtis Jerrells finished with 15 points for Baylor, which suffered its fourth loss in its last five games.
