Slumping Washington returns home to face Oregon
Jan 25, 2007 - 3:22 PM No. 7 Oregon (18-1) at Washington (11-7) 11:00 pm ESTSEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Washington Huskies are hoping to get well at home.
The slumping Huskies look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host Pacific 10 rival Oregon on Thursday.
Washington posted a 64-53 win over Arizona State here on January 6 before losing three straight road games.
The Huskies were dominated in their latest loss, 75-47, by Washington State on Saturday. Quincy Pondexter led Washington with 16 points.
Oregon (6-1 Pac 10) has won five straight since its only loss of the season, 84-82, at Southern California on January 6. However, the Ducks will be without Pac-10 leading scorer Aaron Brooks, who will serve the second game of a two-game suspension for his actions in last spring's league tournament.
Tied for first in the Pac-10 with UCLA, the Ducks will try to match the best start in school history, set by the 1926-27 squad.
Bryce Taylor has averaged 15.2 points in Oregon's last five games.
