Sam Houston State beats Texas College 91-54
Nov 17, 2009 - 4:12 AM HUNTSVILLE, Texas(AP) -- Gilberto Clavell scored 19 points to lead Sam Houston State to a 91-54 victory over Texas College on Monday night.Corey Allmond and Antuan Bootle each had 13 points and Ashton Mitchell added 12 points and five assists for the Bearkats (2-0).
Dwayne Johnson led the Steers with 11 points.
Sam Houston State never trailed. It built a 47-26 halftime advantage and led by as many as 45 points in the second half.
The Bearkats shot 58.5 percent from the field (38 of 65), outrebounded Texas College 40-26 and forced 23 turnovers.
