Memphis looks to remain unbeaten in Conference USA

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Joey Dorsey and No. 14 Memphis attempt to extend their perfect mark in Conference USA play when they host Southern Mississippi on Saturday.

Dorsey collected 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks Wednesday in a 72-59 triumph over Tulsa.

Robert Dozier added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers (16-3, 6-0 C-USA), who have won eight straight games.

Southern Miss (13-5, 3-2) won its second straight contest after a two-game skid with an 83-72 victory over East Carolina on Wednesday.

Craig Craft and Sai'Quon Stone scored 19 points apiece for the Golden Eagles, who shot 58 percent (14-of-24) in the second half.

Memphis has won six straight in the series, including an 83-72 road triumph on January 13. Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 23 points for the Tigers, while Craft had 21 for the Golden Eagles.

Memphis' leading scorer at 14.8 points per game, Douglas-Roberts has missed the past two games with a high ankle sprain. He is expected to return Saturday against Southern Miss.
