Jan 27, 2007 - 2:55 PM No. 13 Air Force (19-2) at BYU (14-6) 6:00 pm EST

PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- Air Force aims to extend its lead over Brigham Young in the Mountain West standings when the teams meet on Saturday.

The Cadets are in first place with a 6-1 league mark while the Cougars are 4-2.

Air Force shot a dismal 39 percent ((16-of-41) in a 56-51 triumph over San Diego State last Saturday and responded with a much better performance in a 72-39 romp over TCU on Tuesday.

The Cadets shot 62 percent (26-of-42) from the floor and were led by Dan Nwaelele's 13 points while Matt McCraw and Tim Anderson each finished with 11.

The Cougars are 12-0 at home this season and return after two straight road wins, 90-78, over Colorado State a week ago and a 70-49 rout over New Mexico on Wednesday.

Jonathan Tavernari scored a career-high 18 points to lead BYU while leading scorer Keena Young finished with just eight.

Young averages 16.0 points per game but made only 4-of-8 shots in 22 minutes. He averaged 21 points per game in his three games before the previous outings before the New Mexico game.
