Ohio State looks for 22nd straight home win vs. Michigan St.

Jan 27, 2007 - 3:03 PM Michigan St (17-4) at No. 5 Ohio St (17-3) 9:00 pm EST

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- If any team is not intimidated by Ohio State's home court winning streak, it is Michigan State.

The fifth-ranked Buckeyes look to extend their streak to 22 straight games - the third-longest stretch in school history - in Saturday's Big Ten Conference matchup against the Spartans.

Ohio State is 5-1 in conference play and trails Wisconsin by one game for the top spot in the Big Ten standings. The Buckeyes have won their last four contests overall since losing to the Badgers on January 9.

Since Michigan State won its fourth consecutive road encounter against Ohio State with a 62-59 double-overtime victory on January 15, 2006, the Buckeyes have captured their last 21 home contests.

Ohio State (17-3, 5-1) is coming off Wednesday's 59-50 triumph over Northwestern. Ivan Harris scored 18 points and freshman-sensation Greg Oden added 17 with a season-high 17 rebounds for the Buckeyes.

After consecutive losses at Iowa and at Indiana earlier this month, Michigan State has won its last four outings and is in a three-way tie for third, two games behind Wisconsin in the Big Ten.

The Spartans (17-4, 4-2) prolonged their winning streak with Wednesday's 70-46 win over Minnesota. Raymar Morgan scored 14 points and Drew Neitzel had 13 for Michigan State, which had a 32-4 edge in points in the paint.
