Duke hopes to stay on a roll vs. Boston College

Jan 28, 2007 - 2:58 PM Boston College (14-5) at No. 10 Duke (17-3) 5:30 pm EST

DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) - With a little fortune, Duke now has gotten back on track in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Looking for their fifth straight ACC win, the 10th-ranked Blue Devils will host Boston College on Sunday.

After losing its first two ACC contests, Duke has bounced back with an impressive four-game winning streak, including three 20-point wins. However, in their last game, the Blue Devils had a tougher time.

Duke pulled out a 68-66 ACC victory over 17th-ranked Clemson. David McClure scored the game-winning layup at the buzzer on a tremendous pass from freshman Jon Scheyer. The Blue Devils had a five-point advantage disappear within an eight-second span.

But the remarkable win was not without controversy. After the Tigers' Vernon Hamilton's layup made it 66-63, Duke star Josh McRoberts' inbounds pass went directly to Hamilton, whose 3-pointer then tied the game with 1.8 seconds remaining. However, after a review, 4.4 seconds were restored on the clock - setting up McClure's heroics and protests by Clemson.

The Eagles also are coming off a dramatic 85-82 victory over Florida State on Tuesday. Sean Marshall nailed a contested shot from the arc as time expired and had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Boston College, which has won six of its first seven conference games this season.

Duke leads the all-time series, 6-1, including a 2-0 mark at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils posted a pair of two-point victories, including an 78-76 win in the ACC Championship game, over Boston College last season.
